 Privacy Policy for DocSafe Reminder

Effective Date: April 25, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to DocSafe Reminder ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, use, and disclosure practices when you use the DocSafe Reminder mobile application (the "App").

2. Offline-First & Local Data Storage

DocSafe Reminder is built on a strict "offline-first" architecture. We DO NOT collect, transmit, store, or share your personal document data (such as names, expiration dates, images, or document categories) on any external servers.

All document-related data you enter into the App is saved locally on your device using a secure local database (Room Database). If you uninstall the app or clear its data, your document records will be permanently deleted.

3. Permissions Requested by the App

To function correctly, the App requires the following system permissions on your device. We only request permissions that are absolutely necessary:

- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to send you timely push notifications when your documents are nearing their expiration dates. No notification data is sent externally.

- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to safely re-register your scheduled expiration reminders after your device restarts. This ensures you never miss a reminder.

- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required strictly by our third-party advertising partners (Google AdMob) to fetch and display non-intrusive advertisements.

4. Third-Party SDKs & Advertising (Google AdMob)

While our core app is completely offline, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements to support development. Google AdMob may automatically collect certain device information to provide ads, including:

- Advertising ID (Device ID)

- Network state and IP Address

- General location data (derived from IP)

EEA & UK Users (GDPR Compliance):

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, we use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. Upon launching the App, you will be presented with a consent form allowing you to choose whether to receive personalized or non-personalized ads. You can revoke or change this consent at any time via your device's ad settings.

5. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data. Because all personal information remains locally on your device, the primary security of your data depends on your device's security settings (e.g., lock screen password, biometric lock). We do not have access to your database.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
