The fundamental architectural principle of LeafPress is local, on-device processing.

- When you select an EPUB e-book for conversion, the entire file parsing, layout computation, font rendering, and PDF generation processes occur locally on your Android device's processor and internal storage.

- We do NOT operate any cloud conversion servers.

- Your e-books, reading history, document titles, text content, and generated PDF files are NEVER transmitted, uploaded, copied, or synced to any cloud server, external database, or third-party service.


2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

- No User Accounts: The Application does not offer, require, or support user accounts, registration, social media logins, or passwords.

- No Personal Identification: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or contacts.

- No Document Telemetry: We do not track what books you read, what pages you view, or what documents you convert.


3. DEVICE PERMISSIONS & FILE ACCESS

- File and Storage Access: When you import an EPUB file or save a converted PDF, LeafPress interacts strictly with the Android System Storage Access Framework (SAF) document picker (`ActivityResultContracts.OpenDocument` and `CreateDocument`).

- The Application only gains access to the specific file or destination folder explicitly selected by you. We do not require broad storage permissions (`MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` or `READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`).

- File Sharing: When you choose to share a PDF document via the Android Share sheet, the Application provides a secure content URI through Android `FileProvider` (`app.leafpress.epubtopdf.files`) with temporary read-only permissions granted exclusively to the app you select.


4. ADVERTISING & THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

To support the ongoing maintenance and free development of LeafPress, the Application includes third-party advertising provided by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and consent management through Google User Messaging Platform (UMP).


These third-party services may automatically collect and receive certain technical information from your device in accordance with Google Play Developer Program Policies, including:

- Device Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (AD_ID) or App Set ID.

- Network Information: IP address, general connection type, and coarse/approximate geographic location derived from IP.

- Interaction & Performance Metrics: Ad impressions, clicks, load durations, and crash diagnostic data.

- All document history and cached conversion files are stored locally within the Application's private sandboxed directory.

- You have complete control over your local data. You can delete your conversion records and cached documents at any time by selecting `Clear history`, `Clear local copies`, or `Clear local data` within the Application's Settings tab.

- Uninstalling the Application permanently removes all internal conversion records and cached files stored in the Application's sandbox. (Files you explicitly exported to external device folders using "Save copy" remain in those folders until you delete them using your device's file manager).


7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

LeafPress is designed for a general audience (students, professionals, and general readers) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.


8. SECURITY

Because all document conversion occurs locally on your device, your private reading materials remain protected by Android's application sandboxing architecture. All network communications related to advertising and consent management are strictly conducted over secure HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections.
